A multi-disciplinary process to ensure the highest standard of care

Starting out

Meeting the candidacy criteria is only the first step to deciding on surgery as a suitable option. To ensure that you are comfortable with the procedure and outcome we meticulously consult and evaluate your personal situation. This includes physical, mental and emotional aspects so that you can prepare positively for your weight loss surgery.

This process includes a range of professional evaluations, including:

  • A Specialist Bariatric Surgeon to oversee your surgery and recovery
  • A Bariatric Dietitian for nutritional guidance
  • Evaluation to ensure you are psychologically well prepared
  • Specialist evaluations as required, such as Respiratory Physician and Cardiologist

Surgery

Our Surgeon is a fully trained bariatric surgeon with formal training in bariatric surgery and complex revisional weight loss surgery. We achieved benchmark results better than international standards with complication rate less than 0.03 per cent.

Your bariatric surgery will be performed in private hospitals accredited to perform weight loss procedures, such as St George Private Hospital – the only private hospital to be recognised as a Centre of Excellence in Bariatric Surgery.

We apply this same world-class standard of professionalism and care to our other operating centres at:

  • Kareena Private Hospital in the Sutherland Shire
  • Dubbo Private Hospital in Dubbo

Our commitment to excellence means that you can be confident in receiving the best in technical expertise using the very latest equipment and the highest standard of post-operative care.

Ongoing Support

To ensure your long-term satisfaction and to gain maximum value from your surgery, we provide an exceptional level of follow up care.

  • Your surgeon provides daily attention during your hospital stay.
  • We set out a schedule of follow-up sessions, starting three weeks post-surgery and then quarterly for the first year, half yearly in the second year, and yearly thereafter.
  • You have 24/7 access to phone support at all times.
  • A psychologist and exercise physiologist as required to provide extra support along the way.

The success of our Bariatric Program has been built on this intense level of support and care to ensure quality and results well into the future.
